Meet the HNS Staff

Sarah Kessinger is senior correspondent for the Harris News Service bureau in Topeka. Kessinger has been an HNS correspondent since 1997.

Prior to working in Topeka, Kessinger was features editor and deputy metro editor at The Monitor in McAllen, Texas. In the early 1990s, she was an education reporter and assistant managing editor at The Garden City Telegram.

Kessinger also launched the Spanish-language weekly La Semana in 1991 for the The Telegram.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and journalism from Kansas State University and a master’s degree in Latin American studies from the University of Kansas.

She is married to Peter Muraski and has two children, Paul and Sophie.

Chris Green

Chris Green

Chris Green joined the Harris News Service as a correspondent in November 2005. Before joining the Topeka bureau, Green worked as a city government and investigative reporter for The Hutchinson News from October 2003 to November 2005. He also covered education for the newspaper from 2000 to 2002.
 
Green earned a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Baker University. He also received a master's degree in international politics from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
 
He is married to Sarah Hill.
